March 2010 | A Decoration and a Safeguard
It was fifty years ago this month when the Queen’s portrait first appeared on Bank of England notes. Tuch have recently designed and installed a display at the Bank of England Museum to commemorate what, in its several versions, is probably the most reproduced image in history. The display includes original drawings for the five portraits and plates and hardware from the engraving and printing processes, and we collaborated with 1410 Degrees to create a short film on the notes, their production and printing processes.
The exhibition runs at the Bank of England Museum until June 2010.
